Battle Green - Zero Waste Period Box
This product is currently sold out.
Our zero waste period box is a great introduction to zero waste living, helping you to save money and have a more eco-friendly period.
Why make the switch?: On average, women typically use between 12,000 to 16,000 disposable menstrual products during their lifetime, and recent research suggests that this can add up to a staggering £18,000. But it's not just your wallet that takes a hit: most pads contain polyethylene plastic which is a harmful pollutant, and many tampons contain chemicals such as dioxin, chlorine and rayon. Sitting in landfill, these chemicals can soak into the earth and enter groundwater.
What's in the box?
3 x reusable panty liners: Made from super soft organic cotton with a PUL backing to ensure there are no leaks, these small sized pads are approx 18 x 18cm, making them perfect as a back up to a menstrual cup or for light flow days (at the beginning and end of your period). Once used, simply pop them in your washing machine and start using again. Available in grey or candy colours.
1 x menstrual cup: Made from medical grade silicone and FDA cleared, the menstrual cup will last for at least ten years if cared for properly. Unlike tampons, there is no risk of TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome) with a menstrual cup, and you only need empty it typically every 12 hours. Pack light for holidays and trips...just throw it in your bag (and store it in the handy Battle Green pouch!). Choose from small (suitable for regular flow/before childbirth) or large (heavy flow/after childbirth). Please get in touch if you have any questions, or if you would like us to send you a pdf with more information on the cup and how to use it.
A welcome sheet, with product information, guidance and care advice, is included in all Battle Green boxes. Please let us know if you are buying this as a gift, and we can include a name or personalised message.
And it gets better...£1 from every Battle Green Zero Waste Period Box sold goes to Binti - a wonderful charity that seeks to provide access to menstrual products for women and girls both in the UK and abroad, where poverty is a barrier. They also work to shatter the stigma around periods, and educate young women on issues around menstruation. See www.binti.co.uk for more information.
